OK, this is just ridiculous. I have now experienced the fourth Dell shipping/order fufillment problem in two months.
In early February I placed an order for a new Mini 9. It was delayed with an estimated shipping date four weeks from the orignal date of orderCall me crazy, but for a simple base laptop- seems a bit long to wait.
So I canceled and ordered one from the Dell outlet with an estimated delivery date of one week from my order placement. They sent me an email saying it was shipped the day after, according to FedEx though it wasn't picked up until three days later. Also their order status page never updated. It still hasn't updated. It's listed as 'shipping' to this day. That was kind of irritating, but the biggest thing was THEY SENT ME THE WRONG LAPTOPI ordered one with a webcam and WAN slot and the Mini they sent had neither. I called them and they offered to send me a periferal webcam. OK, so why would I want a periferal? Integrated is always there, it's less junk to carry around. BESIDES, how does that even begin to solve the issue with the WAN slot? So I sent it back, got a refund. I was going to get a computer elswhere, but they gave me a small credit for my trouble, so I was sucked back in.
When I was searching their outlet I saw a great deal on an XPS1537 posted. I snapped it up. The order status of my order never changed from processing. I called the automated order status line and it was listed as processing four days after my order. I called the staff in India, also told it was processing. Then a week after my order I come home from running errands to find a box from Dell sitting on my front porch. Can you believe it? No tracking number, no sig required. It's a miracle no one stole it!!!!!!
But the computer is lovely. Wonderful, perfect. NO problems whatsoever.
And I need a backpack for it. So I noticed Dell has a sale on the exact backpack I've been eyeing- 50% off. I decided to go through the Dell shipping gambit again and ordered it plus a wireless mouse and some headphones. I got an email saying the order was received but never anything saying if it was being processed or anything. I never even received an order number, just the Purchase ID that came with the "order rcvd" email. It never even showed up on my order status page.
So I called Dell a few days later trying to find what was up and was told that my Purchase ID does not related to any order and that the system must have "ate it." So just to be sure I confirm that if I order another backpack etc... I'm not going to receive two ordered. The customer service rep promises me I won't. So I placed another order (arn't I the genius) and guess what I get in my inbox this morning. A notification that my original order has been processed and is going to be shipped soon. It still is not listed in my order status page, but now it shows that the amount for BOTH orders has been deducted from my account. And now I have to wait until 10 to call and get this straightened out. Hopefully it hasn't been shipped yet so I can still cancel it. God I'm so pissed right now.
I am NEVER ordering from Dell.com again. NEVER AGAIN that brand of foolishness shall overtake me![]()

You should be able to see in your account once they have shipped that you have been *charged*, or how you have paid (via Dell DPA or your own CC).
Check Monday morning. You can return always return the extra one for a refund, as you have the documentation. And, if the extra order hasn't shipped yet..you should still be able to cancel.

Yeah, my account was charged for both. Both were shipped when I called the service center two minutes after it opened. Well, not shipped, just scheduled to be shipped, according to the UPS tracking number. Just like my mini 9 was. The rep told me I can send back the first order and I _probably_ won't be charged a restocking fee. This is just crap. The first order STILL is not on my order status page. I just hate Dell's service department right now. Love their products, hate their notification system.
I am NEVER buying from Dell.com again. NEVER. EVER. -
Well if they do charge you a restocking fee for the return, you can file a complaint via the Unresolved Issues form on dell.coms site. And, see what happens from there. I bet there is a good chance you would get it refunded back to you, based on your circumstances, as such.

I hope so. It's just really disappointing. I used to LOVE Dell. My first computer was a Dell. But I can tell with certainty I'm not going to be buying another one from them. I'm in the market for a desktop upgrade, but I think this time I'll just build one myself. That way I can be sure of the build quality. If it had been one thing, or two things, fine. I understand they're a big company and they deal with thousands of orders a day, but every thing I've ordered in the past two months has been wrong in some way or another. I'm just done with Dell forever.

Yes, I understand your feelings....you know..you can always formulate your feelings into an e-mail to Dell, or by speak phone with a Resolutions Specialist, or by the Unresolved Issues form on Dell.com!! That helps me sometimes when I have had Customer Service Issues...and getting a resolve

That's horrible! I guess when ordering from Dell it's really just luck. Like for me I've had good luck, for a lot of other people, bad luck. I don't know what it is. But at least you got your Mini, and your bag, mouse, and headphones are on the way. Hopefully they will give you a full refund and won't charge you a restocking fee.
I HATE Dell shipping...
