I JUST got a new XPS with 8600 GT Nvidia. Why is my Windows Index a 1.0?

Here are the specs of the laptop I ordered. I DID get a grainy screen, a buckled keyboard, speakergrid, AND battery cover, but this is what really pissed me off.

Graphics and gaming graphics are listed as 1.0, while everything else is over five. The only way I can comprehend this is if dell sent me the wrong graphics card. How do I find out? I should mention that before I did anything, I did a clean install of vista Home Premium.

    Here is what I ordered:

Have you tried doing a WEI refresh to see if Vista updates those numbers?

It should be a driver problem, head to LaptopVideo2Go as phib3r stated and find a stable 169 or 174 series driver. Even the x3100 gets a 3-3.5 on WEI, so you didn't get the wrong GPU.

Instead of rambling about how dell sent you the wrong graphics card you should know first that when you do a clean install you need to reinstall all the drivers...

Relax, Leo :p I'm new to this.

Problem solved. It was a driver problem.
