So yesterday I bricked my brand new 8 days in my hands E1505.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=69289

So after I calmed down I got on Dell chat. My wait was about 20 minutes, but since I was on chat I didnt mind. I was able to fix some dinner and watch some TV while I waited my turn.

After I got into the Dell chat the root of why my laptop was brick'd was determined within within about 3 minutes. My motherboard is toast.

After a few more minutes of discussion of my location and why I am here my Dell Rep agreed not to have me contact International Support for help in getting my Dell fixed. They were nice enough to find a 1-800 number and even get me a case number so when I call I wont have to explain why my baby is being sent state side from an OCONUS location.

And best of all, its under warrenty. No question. I didnt even get accused of mishandleing my baby. Its going to be fixed and thats all there is to it.

The only way I could be happier is if Dell came to me to fix it where I live.

I just wanted to let everyone know that Dell Customer Service (via chat) is outstanding and......

    I LOVE DELL CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to hear that your computer is going to be fixed. And I totally agree chat is the best way to go when you want support. I have chatted with couple of CS so far and they were right on the money for most of things. Don't try to email them for support because reply you get is most likely wont fix anything.

nice to hear that there's a happy end in sight :)

I find dell CS to be better than many other companies. It also depends on who you're speaking to. Not everyone is as savy. Also, as far as I know more experienced agents get to do chats while less experienced handle phone calls, so it might be that chat agents are more helpful. The only thing is that chats are good for quick questions and things like that, so you try to do extensive troubleshooting over chat, they'll probably ask you to call in.

I'm glad that you like them cause I HATE DELL's customer support. Ok, I just wanted to get some recovery disks for my E1705 and it was a piece of cake.. until the time they are suppose to arrive. It's been two weeks and I finally contacted Dell (yesterday), and they told me that it was already shipped and delivered. Ok?, where the hell is my item. They gave me a tracking number for DHL and I looked it up. WOW, it was delivered in Washington, DC. I live in COLORADO!!!! What freakin idiots! So I just emailed them and told them to resend the item to the correct address. You would think that they would double check the address before sending it.
