What can I say after having such experience from the online chat? I swear to God that I will never use the online chat but the phone one!

Well no offense, but i cant understand what the heck you were trying to ask, and you didn't even include the whole conversation.

    Oh well...
    1. I had a replacement system stating that it would be shipped on Nov 23 and arrived into my hands on Nov26th
    2. On 26th I still didn't receive it. When I checked the spec through Dell.com, I found out that there is nothing like "Microsoft Windows Vista" listed on the spec, which was weird.
    3. Then I tried using the online chat and the rep told me that my replacement system contained NO OS.

That part was the most important part. The rest can be ignored.

The problem with Dell's online chat is the customer service reps just use Macros for just about all of their responses, so they're generic replies at best. They seem to out of their way to try to not answer specifics unless they have to.

WOW. Dell online chat is ridiculous. Don't worry. I'm sure they included Vista with your computer though...

The answer is...NO! Dell has to do the cancel-then-order cycle AGAIN...I am glad that I have the ext. # of the rep. who helped me to configure it. By finding him, not only OS is back, it is also likely that my 160GB 7200rpm HDD can become a 64GB one...

when i bought my computer, i used the online chat support and requested my OS cd (which is BS that i would even have to ask for it since i did pay for it), but they didn't seem to have any problems sending it to me. Thats weird they would give you so much crap like that.

It's been a looooong story while the key point was that I met a VERY NICE Dell XPS rep who wrote me a VERY NICE internal report...otherwise I also never expected to get stuff like THESE...lol

leggysoe: My primary language is Chinese (Cantonese), secondary one is English, and some Japanese

    Mt9:Thx!

Silas Awaketh: It's something written by rep about the case and kept as a record. Everytime you call Dell, rep will get the whole file to review your case history...that's what I understood...

well, I have used the online chat and the agent changed the shipping form 2nd day to next day without charging me...and the laptop arrived 5 days earlier than estimated...
the 'agent' was very kind ... far far from automated responses...I am very pleased...
