Well, I just confirmed with dell and was informed that my order is now flying it's way to me. 5 days after ordering!
I put the highest spec configuration on my XPS M1330 (everything except fingerprint reader) which I was told was going to delay the order till mid october). And behold it will get to me in about 3 days I am told.
Fully Spec M1330 to my door in 8 days.
I find it incredible that the finger print reader would have me sitting around another 6 weeks.

Well, maybe it's best to wait till you have it.
Cause only then you'll be able to tell if they were right or not -
Yep, I will wait till it is in my hands before I get too happy yet.

Mine Vostro 1400 was shipped 3 days after ordering and received on the 7th day.

I just think for a M1330 this is very fast. People are still waiting over 1 and 2 months for theirs right now.
I am sure the fingerprint reader played a big part. -
This is the second case that I have read today about the same subject. An Spanish have posted a similar situation to yours. He bought in 29th August, and today is in the Shipping process. To be dell that is quite fast... maybe is the end of the long waits?
-
I just checked my countries Dell order page for the M1330. They have removed the 3-7 week delay notice also.
Maybe in certain parts of the world delays are no more. -
Dell Ireland is still reporting an "up to 6 week" waiting time.
I didn't realise a major factor in the delay was the fingerprint reader....I ordered mine yesterday with the fingerprint reader - maybe I should have left it out? -
The fpr isn't even one of the parts on delay. I am sure the OP just got very lucky and there was a system cancellation that was the same specs which is the one he got.
Red, LED, N-wireless, are the only things holding up 1330's as of this posting.... -

And in response to a system that has been cancelled, that is certainly not possible.
Beause I ordered my system on the day they released the 2.4Ghz processor, and also the system coming with Norton Internet security 15 Month Subscription standard. Up until that day, those things were not even being offered, so there is really no chance of a system sitting around and being cancelled with specs that were only offered on the day that I bought mine.
I was told by my Rep, that on the system I ordered, which has everything, except the fingerprint reader, there were no delays on any parts, I did get a black cover, and not red as well, and also I got wireless N card.
I am told this tracking information is Correct!
