Someone help me please. Everytime I close media direct, it always hangs up.
The screen will turn off but the power is still running and the only choice I have is to remove the battery. I already repaired MD2 using the bootable cd but it still does not fix the problem. What's worse is after I removed the battery and play MD2, it is ALWAYS like booting the Windows again then MD2 will ask me again about protected content even though I checked the check box that says "don't remind me again" or something like that.

Is this only happening when you have the laptop off or do you experience the same problem when XP is booted, and you press the MD button?

this happens when the laptop is off and turn it on using the MD button. i can't run MD2 in XP bec. it does not work anymore after i reinstalled XP Pro.

I don't even know how to get MD2 bec. I ordered this E1505 in US and brought it to other country and I can't order the cd anymore. I'm just waiting if there is a possibility that someone wil upload the software somewhere bec. my only chance of getting it is to download it.

i really do not know what is happening. please help me on this issue.

Okay, lets back up a bit. You said you reformatted. Did you repair MediaDirect? How do you have your partitions set up (did you leave partition 1, etc)?

In order for MD to work in XP Home/Pro you need to install Dell Media Experience. I have posted a link to it in the format guide (link in sig) in the last post.

In order to have your Media Direct to shut down normally in battery mode u will need to unplug the AC adapter during Windows not when the laptop is off. That way Media Direct will shut down according to the power (battery mode) however if u unplug ur laptop while it is off and run media direct, u will not be able to shutdown automatically (only way is pressing on the power button for 5 seconds). There seems to be some kind of software problem in Media Driect not recognizing the battery while the laptop is off
