Like the title says, i can't get my monitor to turn off even when i shut my lid. I have a e1705, i already went into dell quickset and set under power management that when i close my lid: no action. But i can still see that my monitor is on when i close my lid. Could it be due to other programs might be conflicting with it like pcw-lcdOff?

My understanding is that if you use anything BUT the Dell-certified graphics driver, it takes away this feature. Having a close-lid action of "do nothing" does just that.

Well maybe I am reading this wrong, but if you set "no action" that is exactly what is going on when you close the lid-no action is taken. You should set it at "go stand by" or something like that!!!

Even if you put it to "do nothing" the monitor should still turn off.

    Solution: use dell drivers

For some reason, Dell has it where you must use their video card drivers if you have nVidia, else the LCD will not turn off. It doesn't matter what your XP settings are, the LCD will stay on as long as you use 3rd party driver. This is only true for nVidia. AFAIK, there is no way around it if you are using Laptop2videogo

Just in case anyone with ATI is reading this: If you have ATI, you need to enable ATI Hotkey Poller is services.msc
