I recently sold my desktop for a large sum of money to buy my new notebook, in the meantime I have been loaned an Inspiron 2200. It has bad specs so I cant blame it all on the notebook it self but this machine is kinda crap. The screen is ok but very flimsy, if I pick the notebook up the screen ALWAYS tilts down an inch. What I mean by that is when I pick it up the screen kinda pushes itself back. I honostly feal like this screen may fall off soon!

The DVD drive has completly stoped working so I cant get any data on or off of the notebook. The touchpad seems smaller then normal to me but it may just be in my head. But the overall Build Constuction sucks, and this notebook is starting to crack and fall apart. It is a friend of mines granted so I dont know EXACTLY how he has been treating it but he usually is good about these things, the battery life is real good though so I have to give it that. It has lasted long periods of time unplugged with almost no brightness.

What are all of your opinions on this notebook?

on the screen, you probably just need to tighten the screws. As for the DVD drive, I would guess needs an updated driver.

The rest- can't really comment, since i have seen one. The 2200 is a the low budget laptop, so you basically get what you pay for. It cost around 400, so of course it is not that great. It is basically for the users that just need a really basic laptop, and that's it.

My 4 year old Latitude was considered one of the best business notebooks of its time, but now it has a broken hinge, a non-working CD-ROM, and a VERY lackluster screen. I don't think it's so much that the computer is terrible, it just seems like it now that we're used to something else. That's my case anyway.
