I waited so long for it I ordered a red one 3 weeks ago. Received it today and the screen was a mess! Wavy lines all over the place with blue pixels in back couldn't read anything. Tried everything with support to fix it so now I'm getting a new one shipped. I don't even know if I want that. The laptop is heavy and the battery is loose. I'm pretty upset.

Try another one and if that fails you can just return it and have Dell cover the shipping. This particular problem is not exactly common.

If the 1420 is too heavy, you are going to have to pay a lot more $ to shave off another pound of weight, so keep that in mind.

If the 1420 is too heavy you might want to consider a beefed-up cell phone :)
