    Initial thoughts....

-Display- The 1600x display is nice enough, but there is that annoying cobweb effect on pure wite colors. There is also some light leakage on both bottom corners, but it is barely noticeable.

-Audio It's practically perfect. Amazing, distortion free sound that almost made me want to cry. (Compared to the Toshiba).

-Build quality and looks- The computer itself is quite gorgeous, and build quality is excellent.

-Performance- I haven't re-installed, as I do not have discs for RecordNow yet. I did everything else to optimize performance, however. The machine works very well while multitaking, but I think I should upgrade to 2 GB at some point and I still need to re-install windows.

-Problem- I ordered the 80GB 5400 drive, and it only has 53 gigs in the main partition! I realize it isn't supposed to be 80 exactly, but it seems a little low.

Yeah I noticed I only had like 37GB available when I ordered the 60GB HD.

When, and if, you do the restore delete the partition as it will give you a good 5GB back.

What do you mean by the 'cobweb' effect?

Well, it's like a very slight black-ish film that lies over all light colors.

Yeah you should have more than 70 available for you to use. I don't think a partition for the OS should be more than 10 gb

Varun, same thing with me. There is a empty 12gb partition normally used for like system recovery, but since l ordered my laptop with the recovery disk that partition is empty.

Partition Magic works the best for messing with partitions. It will let you do basically anything you want to do. You'll just have to delete the restore partition, and then merge the unused space to your C drive.

Anyone know how big the Media Direct Partition is?

I remember last time I deleted it and had a hard time getting it back after the format.

I left the old backup partition for :\My Documents instead, it is 17 GB. I'm keeping music, documents, and drivers in it. Maybe I should have made it bigger.
