She was terrible, she didn't offer me any discounts and i basically had to tell her what to do.
Is it possible at all to get these discounts from Sales Reps online or do i have to call them?
has anyone had a good experience with a Dell online Sales rep?

Best way to get discounts is to buy a lot of high margin items, like warranties and such, and ask for free hardware upgrades. After the sale, just return the extras.

i dont have a ton of money to work with to buy warranties and such tho, my budget is 850$

I got a $150 refund when I tried to return my notebook.

Conduct your bargaining over the phone. They'll take your custom more seriously if they are speaking to you.
The web-chat is great for discussing specs and asking questions, but it's not the way to negotiate a deal I don't think. -
Yh i dont think the ppl on Online chats on the Dell site are actually "Sales reps". They are there just to answer questions about products and they arent able to offer any discounts in the 1st place. Phone up and order to get discounts.

The people in the chats help you configure it, and then they call you to place the actual order. They can't do that over chat.

ok im going to call them today, what should i say to help get a discount? what seemed to work for you guys?
If it helps at all my 1520 configuration is the default hardware offered, with the 8600gt added and the processor upgraded to 2.0ghz
thanks in advance -
There's no science to haggling, just be polite and persistant. Be clear about what you want, make them work for the sale.
Just don't be rude or aggressive and I'm sure you'll be fine. -
Yeah and make sure say why should I order it through you instead of online? They will usually get you an extra discount or throw in free shipping or something.

Do you think a sales rep might still give you a free upgrade component or something even on top of the $799 discount for the M1330?
I had an online chat with a Sales Rep today and...
