    Hello .. I'm new here
    and I need help !! Please
    I have dell inspiron 1525 Laptop and I've been having this problem for 2 days now .. when I try to shut it down .. only the screen turns black but the HD and everything is still on !! and I have to press the shut down button to shut it down !! and if I do that again I might damage the whole thing !! so any ideas !

    I updated everything but still no luck :(

    Are you tring to shut it down through windows or adjusting your power button to do it?

    How have you been shutting the system down in the past?

    yeah through windows !!
    and in the past !! it was fine like i said it started 3 days ago !!

    It's perfectly ok to shut down by just pressing the power button. Have a look in Power Options. Sounds like your laptop is going into sleep mode
