I have a grainy screen but I don't want to get it replaced [my bro bought the laptop and he doesn't want to deal with warranty]

Hi, all I need to know is that if my laptop has a grainy screen, do I need to worry that my screen will die on me? (my laptop isn't a dell, it's an HP, but I prefer to ask about this here).

    Thanks!

What do you mean by grainy? If the quality of the LCD is poor, I don't see any reason why you should be forced to deal with it...

I think I have to be the original purchaser to get warranty to fix it and my brother lives far away and he is lazy.

My screen is grainy. There are no dead pixels but I notice that the every single pixel moves around (all the DARK pixels are blinking with slight lighter shares) like little particles in quantum mechanics.

All I need to know is that my screen will not BREAK on me.

That definately sounds like the LCD is on its way out. Where did he purchase the laptop from? If online, you should be able to do a warranty transfer.

He purchased it on HP's website. It was sent to my address. I can't believe I have to fix my screen.

Of course, because Dell recently had a bunch of grainy screen products that had to be recalled.

If you can get the receipt from him, you should be OK getting service yourself.
