    Is anyone having the "dreaded" cpu whine? I was just wondering because I dont want to go through 3 systems just to not get the cpu whine

    My 1400 does not have it, at least not at an audible level.

    I have not heard the CPU whine from the Vostro notebooks. I have only heard about that problem on the XPS M1330s.

    Mine doesn't have it either. Not sure what kind of whine people are referring to, as I've never heard it.

    The only annoying sound I ever hear is from the hard-drive.
