I had deleted all the partitions in my e1405 and re-installed Windows XP Center, now, when I press F12, I can still see Dell Diags and still can use them (how to permanently remove it?).

Another, when I press the MediaDirect button, it gives me the WinXP boot-up instead of the MediaDirect Menus (not entering Windows).

I already run MediaDirect Repair but of no good result, I also found out that I do not have the MediaDirect Installer but isntead a Dell Media Experience CD only, do you know where to download the Media Direct CD's or installers?

Need your advise for the said problems.

Btw, I have not deleted the MediaDirect parition because as we all know it is invisble in WinXP.

    Thanks.

In My computer right click > manage > disk manager >

Will enable you to manage all disks in and attached , as well as create and delete paritions .

Just be carefull or you'll need to install XP again .

Don't know about MD as I don't use it .

If you delete the diagnostics partition, you'll have to format again to get the MD issue to work. Personally, I would leave the diagnostics partition because it is the easiest way to get MD to work.

You might try making your own repair disc. I have directions on how to do this in the format sticky. Also make sure that you have Dell Quickset installed, as well as Dell Media Experience if you are using XP Pro or Home.

If you continue to get the flash screen after using your own repair disc, then the easiest fix is to reinstall MD - which you can delete the diagnostics partition if you do this, but you'll have to reformat in order to get the space back (its only 47mb though). To reinstall MD, you need around 1500mb to 2000mb of unpartition space located at the end of your HDD. You can request the Reinstallation disc from dell. Once you get it, you run it like normal software and it will format that area to use the software. This area will not show up as a normal partition, so you won't see it under My Computer.

Maybe I'm just misreading what you are asking, but aren't you asking how to delete the diagnostics partition? Yet, you want MD to work?
