    Hey guys

After long thought I have bought the M1530

    Came with :

    T8300 PENRYN
    250GB HDD
    2056 RAM
    BLUTOOTH
    9 CELL BATTERY
    DVD/RW
    Midnight blue

    All for £769.00

I think I got a good deal, but what I was wondering is this.

The have told me it will be almost a month for delivery, is this right or does it usually come sooner, and also is it true the M1530 comes with earphones (noise canx ear buds)

    Thanks guys

Congrats on your new purchase! You'll love your machine, as I just bought one myself. As for your question, I receive mine in under a week and it was estimated at 2-3 so the service was VERY prompt. However, I ordered from the US so I'm not sure what your situation is. I assume they predict a month just to cover their butts if they hit a snag so I'd guess you'll get it in about 2 weeks. For question 2, YES it does come with some very decent noise cancelling earbuds that work fairly well. A nice bonus to a great-featured system. It also comes with a screen cleaning cloth, a nice carrying case, and an express card remote for media direct. I would HIGHLY recommend checking out the Dell FAQ sticky when you get it to optimize your machine. Read Les's post on re-installing without bloatware and there's also a great link to a bunch of free programs. Enjoy!

I think they tend to overestimate delivery dates though this varies. My Outlet system shipped much earlier than the ETA.

Possibly depends what screen you ordered. I did hear there were shortages of some of the higher resolution screens and this is holding things up.

    Hye

I only got the 1440x900 as looked like so so many problems with the 1050 res.

And to be honest its not like I was going to see the difference really, and not worth the stress.

Dell do build good machines, but I hate YES HATE, talking to that customer service line in india, They are nice and all, but there is a bit of a language barrier i think.

Looks like a sweet machine, and did I go through hell once my fiancee new that I spent 769.00 on a laptop, but she hates computers and anything tech.

Just put her back with the cavemen and she would be in her eliment.

Has anyone tried out the New T8300 ? Was it worth the £50.00 upgrade?

    Thanks again guys

Hi canada16, I didn't realise you could get a Penryn in a M1530 in the UK. I can't see it on their site, am I missing something??

    TIA

    You can... BUT

You need to phone the sales line.

They did not want to tell me they had it in as of yet, but I argued and told them I could get sales invoices from people who had it.

She finally said oh yes we do have it im sorry.

Extra £50.00 from the T7500, Bargain.

Considering, from the T7500 to the T7700 it was and extra 160.00 I think.

Sorry, I know this is off topic but why didn't you just get the T9300 i nstead of the T8XXX series? ALl you gain over the T7500 is .2 ghz and you actually lose 1 mb of cache...The upgrade would have been the T9300, not the T8XXX series....just some advice if you can change it.

I just read all these and noticed that not one person had what country they were from in their Avatar! Do you know how irritating that is when you talk about this deal and that deal and how much and you don't have any idea where anyone is from? Prices, shipping times are different in each country.

C'mon folks put your country in your Avatar!

    Hey Canada,

I just got the exact same setup as you.

Minus the 9cell battery (6 cell for me)

    T8300 PENRYN
    250GB HDD
    2056MB RAM
    Wireless N
    8600GT
    6 CELL BATTERY
    DVD/RW
    1440x900
    Midnight blue

    £727 delivered.

    Did take some haggling :D

Managed to get Quidco on it too at £30 (originally an online order which was changed). So will work out under £700.

Wow that is an awsome deal.

I even got 5% off mine as I work for RBS and dell offer us discounts

Im pissed now, ow well its only a couple quid.

I can wait, But they told me almost a month est. delivery time, which I find a joke.

If a better deal comes up in between time I will just canx a re-order.

But 769.00 and your deal are still awsome, BUT I WANT MORE

    Yeah,

The sales people can be hard work!, most of them will just tell you they cannot do any discount :).

I got 10% with a further 3% then 5% Quidco and the T8300 + 1440 screen thrown in as cheap upgrades!

It's annoying as to why they just don't offer everyone the same bargain, but then I suppose haggling is kind of fun :D

My delivery time is the 6th April, a bit of a wait - but as long as I know I'm getting a decent screen and a Penryn, I'll happily wait

I have not seen any problem posts with the 1440x900 res.

Its only really the 1050 res.

Fingers crossed, I dont think it will be almost a month, I think they just say that to cover themselves in case of delays.

I CANT WAIT, Im like a adult in a beer shop with naked women at the till LOL

How do I alter my avitar, Like place I live and maybe a flag. ? Thanks

Yeah, I meant now I'm getting the 1440x900 instead of the 1280x800 one - I know it will be decent (instead of a lottery). Hence the wait is worth it :D

If you are in the UK, I just called the sales number that was on the web, And they will call back, a few times if you are lucky, and just say 750.00 is my budget thats all I have, and leave it at that.

Trust me it will work. I have worked in sales and they always call back .. ALWAYS.

£50.00 fee for upgrading from the T7500 i got mine for 769.00 and FLAM3H got his cheaper, but with quidco, but I would not touch them. I deal in insurance and we have a nightmare with quidco not paying out and blaming the third party.
