So I seem to have all of the annoying things you can hear from a laptop.

The CPU whine doesn't bother me since I know that's pretty standard and had it on my last Centrino notebook.

I got this notebook a week ago and yesterday was the first time I experienced the hard drive clicking noise. Once I turned off my USB notebook cooler it seemed to stop occurring, but I'm not sure of it yet. But, even worse is when the HD started to beep while I was idling on a webpage, weird.

And last after all that, when I turn off the laptop and go to sleep, I am greeted in the morning to a slightly audible but high pitched electrical field type sound. It goes away once I unplug the AC power. I get a similar type of sound if I don't turn off my external speakers that are connected.

I'm mainly worried about the last 2 paragraphs. I've only had a Vostro for a week and I assume it is all normal, I just need to be sure. I'm hesitant to do an exchange not knowing what type of system I'll get in return.

    Update:

My HD (or something else) has beeped on 2 instances since my post, one of them while web surfing and another while playing a game. What is going on? It sounds very very bad and definitely isn't normal.

    Successes:
CPU Whine taken care of by disabling C4 in RMClock
HD Clicking noise taken care of with Notebook Hardware control
Electrical Buzz was from the AC adapter after leaving it connected into the outlet for hours at a time, so I just disconnect it each time I shut down.
