I got that next day warranty for general things, but will Dell cover it under that?

    I hope so D:

Anyone know what I should do? I have next Monday off from class so I could get it fixed if they cover it.

They won't cover a single dead pixel. You're out of luck unless you have a dead cluster of pixels or a ton of single dead ones. Do you have a dead or a stuck pixel? If it's stuck, there are a few techniques you can try to ease it out.

Otherwise, you're pretty much out of luck.

It's completely black. So nothing I can do? :/
    What causes dead pixels anyways?

    Edit:

Only other problems I'm having is the headphone issue and the mic isn't that great. No big deal to me but the screen issue is more annoying.

I got my laptop on the 9th of August, so yeah. I can't really go without a laptop, since I use it in my class and whatnot to take notes, etc.

well then just tell them something else is wrong with it.. but remember there is no gaurantee your next system will not have something worse or more wrong with it. and if you are outside of the first 30 days they will send you a refurbished system.. sucks i know i have a 2k+ system now and i have a single missing pixel as well..

I remember I had 2 stuck green pixels on my Toshiba and it was just so annoying, especially when watching dvds. However, I know some people who are not bothered by it at all. If you ask me, I'd probably return it an ask Dell for a new one. Like what others have said, tell them sometime else is wrong with it. If worse comes to worse and the new one turns out to have the same problem or you receive a worse notebook, return it, demand a refund and purchase another laptop brand.
