I ordered a Studio 15 last week expected ship date is July 31.

    here are the specs:

    -Graphite Grey with blue trim
    -T9300 (2.5GHz/ 800MHz FSB/ 6MB cache)
    -Vista home premium
    -1280x800 LCD
    -256MB radeon HD 3450
    -3 GB ram
    -250GB hard drive
    -8x CD / DVD burner
    -1397 wireless G card
    -56 Whr battery (6 Cell)
    -Back-lit keyboard
    -3 year accidental damage/lo jack(theft) coverage

What (if anything) are you considering instead? I chose the Studio over a comparably-equipped Vaio since Dell had a much better deal. It was a tough call since I've always been a huge Sony fan, but I've been happy with my purchase.

I own one and you're missing out. The only bad comments left on these forums are about the speakers and one Studio that didnt get ship properly (no pictures were posted so we have to go with what was said). I'm surprise people use laptop speakers quite honestly... at home I have external speakers and on the road/public spaces I use headphones. I think you canceled because of buyers remorse (I worked retail and most returns were caused by that).

IMO, speakers should not be a dealbreaker when purchasing a laptop. I suppose they will always be for some people, but you don't buy a portable computer for its sound quality.

Yeah the new HP business line looks classy as well but not in the same class as the Studio. So it wasn't only the few comments that made you change your mind afterall. ;)

Also most 15" HP currently have a weight of around 2.80kg... Dell Studio 15 sits at 2.77 kg... might want to go for one of those ultra-portable if weight will bother you.
