    Helo all:
This is my first post here.
    I just ordered an e1750:
    2 GHZ Duo processor
512 MB RAM (Plan to upgrade to 3rd party 2GB RAM)
    100 GB 5400 SATA drive
    UXGA screen (hgher resolution screen)
    NviDia 7800 256MB video
    BlueTooth
    Intel 802.11 a/b/g wireless
    Win XP Pro

I plan on using Gentoo Linux as my primary OS with small Win Xp Pro partition.

    Cheers

I just got it 2 days ago and upgraded the memory to 2GB. Best keyboard and mouse buttons on any latop yet. Now I am installing Gentoo Linux on it. What is the 1st DELL 40 MB partition for?

    Thanks
    Alex

Dell Diagnostics... it is software that will check to see if there is any problems with hardware. Sometimes dell requests you to do this if you call in for tech support, but i don't think you have to do this.
