I must say, the 9300 was much more than I expected. The 17" screen is absolutely enormous. My mom's old Inspiron 8000 weighs at least 2lbs more than the 9300.

Dell shipped the laptop from Texas to Seattle which left Sunday and arrived Tuesday. So much for free UPS ground. I was pleased.

I would like to shoot the politicians for making Washington state residents pay sales tax. This is rediculous. There are more than a dozen other states who have to pay as well. There should never be any sales tax on internet purchases. Just think about all of the jobs and/or additional revenue you create by purchasing online vs. a brick and mortor business. 8.8% sales tax is a heafty bill on a $1360 machine.

I loaded the 9300 with only the best. The geforece go6800 card. 100gb of storage. 256mb of ram (I ordered an additional stick of 1gb on Newegg.com for $100). I pity the fool who buys additional ram from Dell. They nickle and dime the hell out of ram. Installing memory on a laptop is something that special olympians and Jerry's kids could accomplish with little difficulty.

I'm very pleased with what my cousin is getting. He certainly does not appreciate the efforts I have made to get him this fine piece of machinery.
