There are 495 M1330's in the Dell outlet.

I have NEVER seen that many systems in there and I look for deals there all the time, whether inspiron, xps, latitude, etc.

I bet in 2 months they will be practically giving them away!

with the number sold its not surprising. it doesnt mean its a bad thing. they could even be systems that the boxes were never even opened.

Yeah, maybe. I highly doubt it though with the amount of problems the 1330 had.

Dell sells a TON of business systems (much more than home/1330's) and, again, I have never seen no where near the amount of 1330's in the outlet as latitudes and precisions combined.

Yeah, remember how many thousands of m1330s dell probably sells worldwide each day...

does Dell keep sending refurbs/returns when you return a machine?

why the four returns? I think Dell just recycles their returns until you accept one...

Well, if your within 21 days it is not a refurb - your replacement will be new. After that, it is up to Dell (usually it will be a refurb).

Of all the early machines with initial minor quality issues that were returned, it's not all that surprising to see them (refurbished, first, of course, then) in the Outlet. I have always found Outlet machines to be of excellent build quality, and Dell puts their money where their mouth is by offering the extended warranties on them just as they do on new machines.

No one is questioning the quality of the 1330's in the outlet. Just that there are so many of them.......

Would this be any indication of the potential quality (or lack therof) in the m1530's? I'm thinking of switching to an m1530.

Can I ask why the switch? I ask cause I've been on the fence about pulling the trigger on pretty much the exact same config for the past few days. Just curious if you're another person done in by the headphones or if it was something else...

Well, It's kind of superficial. My laptop itself is fine. No problems except it wobbles a bit.

I just realized i could get the XPS 1530 for the same price i paid for this Inspiron. I figured i might as well get a better system with the same specs.

I'm still not sure if i will go through with it because i have to get a response from dell about it.

Oh that's because they have been really nice about sending out new systems to m1330 owners. Last time i requested a new system they didn't even ask why, they just gave me one. Gonna request another new one today, lol.

#5 for me is to be delivered today. First two were 1520's then second 2
M1330's. even though my time w/1330 was brief I REALLY liked this laptop.
screen size perfect for me and the weight ok too. Just keeping my fingers crossed.
