Well Ive been bouncing around on NBR for two months now, ive been a member for a month I guess, and in this month ive gone through 20 different laptop ideas. Well thanks to that 25% off coupon im getting a DELL.

    E1705
    T7400
1 Gig RAM (sales rep messed up and gave me 1 DIMM)
    80 Gig 5400 HDD
    No Bundled Software
    Bluetooth

and all of the other standard stuff. The laptop came to 1471.95 w/taxes.

Sure beats the 1320 I was going to spend for the Asus A8JS or 1360 plus 8 hours in the car with a 3 year old to drive and pick it up.

All that I want to know now is can I get XP MCE installed instead of VISTA? Id rather have the upgrade option, than a preinstalled VISTA.

When I ordered my system the Dell Operator said it was not possible to get a Upgrade since DELL has decided to go Vista on their laptops.

Funny thing is, I can't run anything under Vista.

I'd just buy a winXP and install it when you get it. Hold on to the Vista CD and install it down the track.
