thanx jujube.. it is my second dell. before i had an inspiron 6000 with:
    -128 mb x300
    - 2 ghz cpu
    - 1 b ram,
    - 80 gb harddisk.
my 1705 ran faster with a lower ghz cpu.. i found it has an better keyboard, a better case, a better glidepad, a better display....oh ok letz say it is more better.... i have sold my one and a half year old insp 6000 on ebay for 872 USD.. not so bad..

thanx chaz.. must say for the same price i could get the msi megabook with 17" screen, centrino 1.7 mhz cpu @400Mhz, 1GB ram @400Mhz, 256 MB GF6600, and 80 GB HD.. and an Acer 15.4 with an X700 card and an 1.86 CPU.. I think i made a verrrrryyy goood deal with the Dell.. It has not the slowest CPU inside, and the x1400 performs for my gaming expirience not bad.. and i can upgrade everything i want.. CPU: Core Duo to Meron, VGA: x1400 to 7900GTX, HD, Memory.. no other Notebook in this Pricerange con do that.. Ok the Tec-Service from Dell is not so good.. but who cares.. i can do the changes after waranty on my own.

Nice deal! Hope it serves you well! :) The E1705 is one of the more upgradeable notebooks on the market. In the future though, something like the 7900GS will give you a huge performance boost when gaming. That is from your X1400.
