Ok I was trying to update my drivers, I went to dell website and got a few update for my drivers, but now, my computer won't go into standby or hibernate. If I try to go into standby, after I see the "preparing to standby" my computer goes black and the on light still on, then I can't wake the system up I have to press and hold the power button and reestart. When I try to go into hibernate mode after "preparing to hibernate" I see a blue screen with that says something like "an error has happened and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to my system, the problem could be caused by a new software or driver... etc" After I restart it says, your system has recovered from a serious problem and then it ask me to send a report error, I do and then my web browser and open this: http://wer.microsoft.com/responses/....3.0?SGD=ecbbb912-95b3-4340-b75b-dd71c2813a50 I know the problem was a driver that I was trying to update to make my computer work better but instead it messed up. How do I undo the updated drivers????

Either (1) uninstall the drivers, if you know which driver is the culprit, (2) use System Restore to roll back to the point before you installed the drivers, (3) use your recovery partition to roll back to factory settings, or (4) use an OS disk to clean install.

I used System Restore and didn't fix it, I used Dell driver reset tool and it says it didn't find any problem. How do I uninstall the drivers Manually? ( I know how to uninstall programs, but not drivers) Recovery partitioin? like a Cd to restore my system? my Dell didn't come with one. OS disk to clean install, don't have one :( lol .... I remember one of the drivers I've updated is SigmaTel but if I click properties and try to roll back to the old driver it says no files found

Re update the BIOS, either to a new BIOS, or maybe the same BIOS again, that will fix it.

ok if I swap windows users, I'm able to go into standby and hibernate!!! however, Mozilla looks to be messed up since it won't play videos because it says javascript is disable (is not) or I need the newest version of the video player. I did a update on the video player but still say the same thing. So if I swap to another username everything is works ok, no error messages, I can standby or hibernate but Mozilla won't play videos

Very weird. Try doing a fresh install of Firefox and/or the video player you're using; maybe there's something corrupted.

Ok I didn't get the problem fix but at least I can go around it lol... this is what happened... on my user account I was not able to go standby or hibernate, other than that, everything was working fine. my son's account, Firefox was not able to play videos no matter what I did, uninstall reinstall, etc. but I was able to go standby and hibernate using his account. extra account I was able to play videos, but I was not able to standby or hibernate, not even swap users or shut down my pc!!!

So, what I did is: I deleted my son's account, the extra account and made a new account and this account works good, no problems at all!! standby, hibernate, watch videos etc etc. everything fine. My old account still there but I'm not using it right now until I know for sure that all my documents, files and programs are working in my new account, Then I'm going to delete that account, after that everything will be ok :) lol I can't fix the problem, but I can go around it lol
