I need a new HD for my Dell notebook. Do I have to buy one from Dell or can I buy from somewhere else? If I can, where do you suggest I buy it from? Where can I get a good price? I've never bought a HD for a notebook, is there anything I need to know?

    Edit: Inspiron 6400

Wow I love the model of your laptop..! ;)
Once you know the type of HDD you have do a search online you be able to pick them up much cheaper then to buy from Hell/Dell.
Where to buy depends on your location..

Any 2.5" SATA (not PATA/IDE, that is) drive will work. There are hundreds of places, including your local computer store, that sell such drives.

Is there some kind of limit as to how big (storage-wise) a HD I can use on this computer?
