So, formatted drive to nothing. Restored OS partition. Left 75 gig's free (i'll make another partition when I get MD working)

When I start MD now, I get:

    MD extended partition table erro

and it cuts off there. Is this because I can't see the 47mb Dell Diagnostics space anymore? It's not there when I boot the XP disc, so I assume it's really gone...

Thanks to anyone who can help!

Hmmm and my Media Direct install says it's an NTFS drive, and has a label, D:. Not normal?

    Edit:

Remembered that I ghosted the drive when I first got it. Will restore and format from there. Thanks!

On my computer the 47MB first partition was labeled Media Direct in the partition/format part of the OS install.

I think you aced the Media Direct altogether.

Already done that. I mean, this drive is coming from scratch now, so I guess I'm stuck with MD3, 2 won't load at all now. I'll try 3 tonight.

    OK, tried to reinstall MD3.

I used the MD3 disc to partition the drive, resotred my OS image, went into windows and ran the MD3 disc. It now says the hard-drive has not been prepared for the installation.

Something is seriously wrong here. Please, if anyone knows what to do, please help me :(

Have you tried preparing the hard drive for installation? :lol

ok, bad joke, I'm out of ideas, if Southern Grrl can't help you...

I'm not deleting my MD partitions now though... no way...

Good luck with it... MD is such a non-feature too... :(
