This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I need reformat / reinstall advice!

    Hi guys,

    I'm going to reformat my old Dell Inspiron 8000 and reinstall XP tonight. I might use TinyXP because I'm going to use this laptop as a DJ performance machine, and the smaller the OS footprint the better.

    Any advice about what I should do before reformatting and reinstall, and what I should do afterwards? Thanks.

    First, trying searching the forums. We have several threads and a sticky dedicated to formatting. The advice is going to be no different than what every other user who has asked this question received.

    Second, don't post questions about illegally obtained software.
