I need some help ASAP. How much should I pay for this specification for the STUDIO 17?

Okay, so I just called Dell.

This is what I got them to offer me.

    17" STUDIO
    T8100 processor
    WLED display
    3gb memory
    320gb hdd space
    ATI 3650 HD graphics card

For a price of $1319 CDN + taxes.

Is this a good deal? Should I jump on it? I told the guy I'd call him back.

The first week the Studio 17 came out. I got this exact same configuration on the Dell.ca website, but now when you opt for this configuration, the price is more.

Please help me decide if I should go ahead with this laptop

    THANKS!!!!

I can't get the Gateway here in Canada.
The site leads me to the retail stores in Canada that sell Gateway comps.
But none carry the 6860. They all hardly carry gateways in general.

That Studio 15 is good, but I'm really keen on a 17".

What does everyone else think of this $1319 deal from Dell?

Here is my advise, look into SAGER website and try to configure a similar one (maybe even with better parts and Centrino 2). Then tell the DELL representative you got a better deal and unless they lower the price further, otherwise you won't buy. You should be able to bargain a little more. But honestly, if I were you I wouldn't take the leap yet, cause SAGER is really offering great products (Centrino 2), and the price is still lower than the Studio (with soon to phase out Centrinos).

I checked the p6860. It's gonna be $25 more than the dell i have configured. The card is the 8800 so it's (a lot?) better. BUT the cpu is a T5550. And I don't think the screen is an LED.

Sager. I checked too. Really good looking comps. Same with the Gateways.
The only 17" in my price range is the NP6790:

    T8100
2gb memory (max i could get)
    320 gb hdd
    8400m g video card

    $1154
