This is Dell Canada if it makes a difference.

By the title, I mean, you know how there are multiple packages you can customize like the standard, smart etc? Well for the Vostro 1500, I built a computer with a 1.8Ghz Proccessor in the smart package(the cheapest one I could build with the 1.8).

It was impossible, using any package to build an identicale computer with a 2.0Ghz processor for less than $270 more!

    Am I missing something?

That's why you keep trying configs until you find one that's the cheapest :D

Exactly what I ended up doing, it's just wierd that a 2.2Ghz processor built in the smart package costs $70 less than any 2.0Ghz with the same setup...

Dell is coo coo in the pricing options.

When you buy a laptop, additional 9 cell batter is $99. BUT if you go to their parts store, it's $69.....go figure.

    That's like with the Vostro 1400. Upgrading from a 6-cell to a 9-cell. 40 bucks.

To get a NEW battery (both 6/9 cell are same price) for 59 bucks.
