I think it's nice because it focuses on how your computer was made just for you... which is one of the things that had made Dell so successful. I think their image has been tarnished because of their ultra good deals. People associate inexpensive with cheap.
Their stock has been doing horrible this past year, so this new ad stradegy couldn't have came at a better time. One of the things that has kept the stock up is the fact that they were always getting bigger and bigger. But now that there really isn't much more room to expand, things have been falling off. Very similar to what is happening with Wal-Mart.
Anyways here is one of their first commercials under the new campaign. This should be a good example of things to come. The "Purely You" is expected to be as big as the "Dude, you're getting a Dell".
"We build it for only one"

That was a pretty decent ad. from DELL.
One of the best ads on computers! -
Which Ad are you talking about? The one where some guy calls Dell and this lady helps him out and they show the assembly warehouse?
-
wow it is so not obvious that frederick works for dell
-
It is a notebook site for god sakes, why wouldn't a Dell worker who likes notebooks hang out here?
To tell you the truth, Dell people don't exaclty "like" Dell either. -

I'd have to say it is a good ad campaign. Much better than HP's 'The Computer is Personal again' ads - which are plain bad in my opinion.

Yeah, having ordered a lot of Dells I see the commercial and think of the 20 different things that are just wrong about it, but it is a pretty good advertising idea.

I work for Dell, and I like working here. It's a really good company to get into.
I really like Dell's new "purely you" ad campaign...
