    Here is the story:

I contact Dell 2 months ago and demand for a refund... everything went smoothly and Dell's rep contacted me that the refund is credit to my uncle's credit card . I don't know if my uncle check his account or not I have to call him if Dell deposit in his account. ... However,TODAY , I got an email from Dell that a notebook is shipped from Memphis to my address. What's wrong??? and it'll receive it on next Monday March 5.

I don't know what's going on but I have to check my refund first ... if the money is in the credit card, probably it's a free system?!?! (ridiculous )

I have to contact Dell about this. I remember I have all the Return Authorize number wrote on the system and sent to the warehouse in Austin. They verify with me 2 times before they actually refund to me.

    Anyone have experience like this?

The right hand at Dell is not talking to the left. One department is processing refund, while another is proceeding with an order or an exchange. What will probably happen is you'll probably see that the refund has been issued. Then, as soon as you sign for the newly shipped item, a new charge will appear on the credit card. If you want to try your luck, then warn your uncle to look out for another charge. If you don't see a charge, then you have a free system. They *could* have a year to charge you. Are you willing to sit on pins and needles for a year?

Given your previous troubles with the E1705, maybe they're trying to win you back (as a customer).

I have to check my uncle first and see if there's any charges from Dell, and if the refund is in his credit card or not. I sent the laptop to Austin TX and now they transfer to Memphis. Then, They did a repair and send it to me? This is so odd.

Maybe Zander is right about miscommunication between Dell's department.

I don't know if Dell want to win me back after those nasty BSODs Memory Parity Error described in a thread here which is really long now.

I'll see if there is any notes left in the box about any charges or for free.

PS:it's the same system i send for refund with same service tag code. If Dell send me that computer, I'll have 5 computers in the house. The one I'm using is Asus Z84j , the 3 other ones are Toshiba for sale, and a Dell E1705 .

UPDATE: Dell already refund to my uncle's credit card so the Money is there.... what about the system they are going to send to me? It's for free for real or what? I see no status or any charges going on My Dell's account now.

I'm sure they aren't intentionally sending you a free laptop, but they may never catch their mistake. It's up to you if you keep it or call them up and tell them what happened. Of course, they might catch it and charge you again.

I doubt it is free. Probably will charge the card if you keep it.
