Just this morning I was using my notebook (E1505) for my homework. Than I went to class, plugged it in and the light on the adaptor didnt come on.
I tried different outlets and the same thing.
I unwravelled my cord, and the problem seemed to go away, (for now)
I guess i need to replace my power adaptor.
How long do you think it will take to get a new one?
I have the highest warranty thing Dell offers

Maybe the light is just going out. Does it still charge the battery when you plug it in?
Check the cords themselves for signs of corrosion or damage. Check the leads too. Its a long shot, but I one thought I had a broken s_video cord that I was able to fix by unbending a pin. -
If you contact Dell tech support they will send out a new one to you for free...Just as long as your warranty is in effect.
-
Chris,
If they send you a new one..it shouldn't take but few days to arrive to you...They may even send it overnight (based on the type of warranty you have)
Call today, and maybe you will have it by Friday, at the latest

Cool, thanks guys.
I just need to call them up after class ends
The cable and everything looks fine, it may just be something loose in the actual power brick.
luckily I still have over 3 years of warranty left

I had that problem with mine, it wouldnt charge and the light would go on and off. Then the power adapter started to beep!
I called dell and they sent me a new one over night. I hope you get the same great service. -
I called up, and within 7 minutes I was talking to a tech. I basically followed their test questions, told the guy my college address, and I should get a new power adaptor in 3-5 few days

Way to go. Hope it comes in sooner than that!
-
I hope it does
right now my power adaptor is working, cause the cable is bent a certain way
If I move the cable, the power adaptor shuts off, so as long as I dont move the cable I can use my laptop.

I remember when my battery wouldn't charge..and I couldn't get any power after it drained! I had to use my desktop til the Technician got to my house to fix.
You really do lose a sense of freedom when your lappy isn't working!

My power adaptor came in on Friday night as expected. Unfortunately my school post office was closed for the day and they are not open on weekends, so it sat in a DHL van until yesterday.
I picked up the power supply and everything is working fine.
After I get the replacement part, I have to send the defective pwoer brick back as part of Dell policy. So I did, unfortunately their were issues
Dell sent me the new power supply with prepaid DHL shipping.
They said I needed to call DHL to set up a shipment pickup.
Well DHL basically told me that this is no longer offered in the USA, and that I would have to pay postage.
So I had to pay $6.95 for an already paid for package.
this is so stupid. Why would Dell ship it DHL and pay for return shipping, if I had to pay for return shipping anyways.
Oh well, my power adaptor is working fine, I cant complain about that

Glad you got the power adaptor and all is working good now!
And, the rest that happened..that's too bad!
You could, if you wanted call Dell and ask them for something to make up for the confusion that you didn't cause ~ regarding having to pay for return shipping
It's too bad that Dell and DHL have problems like this, when each isn't on the *same page* regarding shipping

thats weird, they told me to scrap mine.
-
really?
They told me I had to send mine back to them.
Well whatever I guess its not bad. I just hope nexttime I need help from Dell they use FEDEX, UPS or USPS.
