but i was shot down.
However, good news for those who want high resolution versions of the 1530! XPS sales told me that they will be offering 1440x900 and 1680x1050 resolutions soon. I told him if this would be january, and he said it could be a long time.....he doesn't know for sure. He doesn't think they will be offering upgrades for us with the standard 1280x900 either for a long time

It is cheaper to buy a new 1GB single module than choosing the upgrade options. I always go for the minimal option for memory and upgrade with aftermarket.

the reason i wanted 1 GB module is because i already have a single 2GB module! Since they have the standard two 512 modules in there, the best total memory I can get is 2.5 memory, unless I buy a 1GB module. These guys always want to make $ off its hard working customers! lol

Or just buy another 2 GB stick for $30 after rebate, and forget about Dell's included RAM.

So here's my question: Dell says that you void their warranty if you install aftermarket memory......
anyone have any experience with this?
there's no way they can tell, right?? if you have to have service, you just take the aftermarket memory out and put the shipped memory back in??
I tried to get Dell to put 1 single gb module in my laptop
