Hi there... i want to buy a dell xps 1530 and i would order it tonight but they dont seem on dell.ca or dell.com to have an option for Phil.

What would be an option, I checked fedex and it would be about $320 to ship it lol....

anyone with any better ideas let me know :)

Can’t you ask someone in Canada or US to buy one and ship it to you? That’ll be considerably cheaper than Fedex.

For example, USPS priority mail (6-10 days) charge is around $40 for a package of 10punds to Philippines.

Sorry, don’t know about the box size.
Well… If it is sent as a gift, then tax and duty should be minimal. But better check with local authorities before ordering.

Yes, it is available in Canada. KanadianIceman has received his and has posted a review. He would know the box size:

Phoenix was referring to USPS (i.e. United States Postal Service), not UPS.

Found this on the intenet. There's 15-30 'brand new' for sale in your country.
    Check this out: http://www.sulit.com.ph/index.php/view+classifieds/id/213041/DELL+XPS+M1530+Brand+New+Laptop

Why do you want a Canadian DELL 1530? Price?

Well, it's about $1200 in North America whereas in that add it's 84,300 pesos which is equivalent to $2094 US Dollars. Big difference!

In this case, yeah you may be better off buying from here or if you have a friend or relatives abroad, have them buy and ship it for you.

Hey Shol, how long are you going to be here in the Philippines for? You can actually place orders for anything from the business line (Vostros, Latitudes, etc.) through the local distributor, MicroD. Ask them about your warranty options, though - see if they'll let you transfer your warranty after you leave the country.

Caveat: check out my various posts on the quality of service of the ASP (which is also MDI) here. Not too stellar, and very unconvincing of the warranty price you're paying. But if you plan to leave the country before your warranty expires, it may still be worth it. I ordered my Latitude from New York last summer, had the service tag and warranty transferred to here. I've since had many, many hardware problems with the system but I can't return it because:

a.) I'm past the 21-day grace period, and
2.) It's not the smartest thing to pay for shipping all the way back to Texas to get a replacement unit.

I will be visiting New York again this March - hopefully I can get some results on my issues.

In any case, I hope you do much better with your system! :) Don't mind me, I'm just gripin' :p
