I hope you guys are using a 64-bit OS with that amount of RAM? It'll help you get the most out of your hardware.

On my 1330 I have 4GB DDR2 and it works like a charm!

I am using 32 bit OS, but what the heck, it detects 3.5GB so just for the remaining 0.5GB, I do not want to switch to 64bit and lose my apps and spend sleepless nights searching for drivers!

Actually, i just got my M1330, i formatted and installed Vista 64-bit. I always download the newest drivers off the web anyway, so the amount of searching for 64-bit drivers was no different than usual. Now, everything is working as it should and tomorrow I am going to pick up 4GB of OCZ ram for $99 CDN :-D

Listen, 1.5GB more than 2GB is 1.5GB more than 2GB. There's accoun' for you to tell me I need to have driver and program incompatibilities just to use a piddling 512MB more RAM.

I wouldnt say 512mb is piddling amount, but i do agree with you on sticking to 32bit.

I have a question for everyone out there. If you have 32bit Vista and stick in 2x2GB sticks of Ram, do you have 1.75 by 1.75 in dual channel mode? Or some strange combination...

It doesn't matter; AFAIK, Santa-R0SA PCs can do dual channel on whatever RAM is the same, and run the rest single-channel. Besides, all 4 GB are "active"; your 32-bit OS, however, can only see 3.5 GB, in this case.
