Guys, i need your help and opinion with the following situation.
I plan to get an Inspiron 6400 in the near future from Dell Singapore with the following specs:
    Proc - T2400 @ 1.86GHz
    DIMM - 512MB of DDR2 @ 533 MHz
    HDD - 80GB 5200RPM SATA drive
    Display - 15.4" UltraSharp WideScreen SXGA w/ TrueLife 1680 x 1050
    Drive - 8x DVD DL
    Video - 256MB ATI Radeon X1400
    Battery - 9 cell 85 WHr
Spare Adaptor - 90W Spare Adaptor
All warranty plans are standard offers.

Total costs would be around SGD 2,200 - or equivalent around USD 1,400. My plan is to get another 2GB of RAM @667 MHz and 100GB 7200RPM HDD outside (another USD 400) since it will be much cheaper to do so than to get it from Dell, plus i can pick whatever i like.

Do you think that the config i will got worth the money or is there any other config that is better than the I 6400? Plus, can i change the HDD and DIMM from the original shipments without breaking warranty seal?

    Thank you.

I think that is a good config. Yes you can replace the RAM and the HDD and still be covered by your warranty. It will not however cover your aftermarket upgrade. :)

    Hope this helps.

Thanks. Btw, do you think that it's the cheapest price to configuration/performance combination? Or maybe you know some system ranging around the same price with better performance? Any recommendation?
