I couldnt get chronicles of riddick to install on my e1705, so I thought it was due to the bloatware. I called dell, and they told me I could still use symantec recover if I did a clean install. So I went ahead and did it. I backed up the dell and drivers folder, but I forgot to backup the music folder, which had around 60 songs in it :/

Now I cant get em back...if anybody can upload them, I would be willing to pay, perhaps via paypal or whatever.

Or perhaps there is a way to browse/reactivate the backup partition?

What did you do? You say that you did a backup of your drivers onto a disk or did you actually move it onto the dell hidden partition. Well, if you formatted with your hidden partition, they shouldn't be there because you wiped out everything. Sorry

If you can prove you have bought these mp3s, then download "Frostwire" and download the mp3s. As long as you have paid for it once, you dont have to pay again, and is legal to download it from a p2p network.

I only formatted the main partition, I left the backup alone!

    BUT good news!!!

I was able to recover the Symantec PC restore thingy even after I formatted and installed a clean OS

    :)

    DAN rocks!

Im gonna test it out now, get the preinstalled music back, and then format to a clean OS and fix the restore thing
