    Hi all,

i love my 1530, but the power adaptor barely fits into my bag. It's so ridiculously big, especially compared to those timy HP ones.

Dell tech advisor told me the BIOS wouldn't recognise the lesser power supplies. I'm interested in the Dell Travel Adaptor- I've read in some forums that it works on the 1530, and in others, the contrary.

So, is there finally a solution to the brick? And if Dell don't offer one, do Kensington or similar companies off a small and safe (for my XPS) travel adaptor?

    Any advice appreciated!

You have a laptop with a high end processor and high end graphics card and you are complaining that it needs a larger power supply??? Sure you could get the 65 watt one but watch it NOT charge your battery while you use it heavily.

I feel your pain. Dell bricks are notoriously large. :(

A simple no would have been enough thanks! I've never had a laptop before so wasn't aware how special I am to have such a powerful machine.
And I dont mind the fact that it's large. It's just that it's fat, and doesn't fit into my girly handbag/laptop bag ;)

By the way, you do realise that engineers haven't simply been working their socks off to introduce such sophisticated products onto the market, only to simply reduce the portability of a product due to one simple item. Smaller 90W adaptors are possible. You should see how small the Macbook Pro's 85W adaptor is. Wait! (lightbulb flash above head). I should just construct a base for my laptop, insert the power brick into it, plug it in, then stick the laptop onto the base, making it only 4 inches thicker. Oh, no. That would make it a bit redundant wouldn't it. A bit like your post ;)...

Anyway, apologies for the sarcasm... This is what happens after carrying around the brick. Peace out!

Actually, you said that you liked the HP power adapter, then is it 90W, or close to that? If so, it might actually work on your Dell. I used HP adaptors on my old Toshiba before, and it worked without a problem.

Apple is able to charge lots more money for similar specs, thus they can design a power supply like the one you mentioned. Dell is a cheap, what can you say.

You have a T8300, 3 GB of RAM, 200 GB HDD w/ the sensor, clean installed, and undervolted.

It's pretty clear from there that the laptop is decked out and that it has the 8600m GT.

How big is the actual adaptor? I have the 90w coming with my M1330....

Is it the same size as the M1730 power brick?? Or the XBox360 power brick??
