    ok well my e1705 should be here sometime between now and february 5th and i when it gets here i want to transfer some files from my old desktop to it, what kind of cable will i need to use and which one will be the fastest ?

    standard ethernet cable should do the trick. If you don't have a switch, hub or router to plug both computers into, you'll need crossed cables. Otherwise the regular ones will do.
