    Yea I'm getting an M1530 for my old 1520 and I'd like to know aswell.

    I don't see why not. Just swap the hard drive.

    As long as the drives are similar, Dell probably won't even notice.

    Was the M1530 ordered with the same type hard drive as the 1520? If you swap an 80GB 5400rpm unit from the M1530 for the 200GB 7200rpm unit you had in the 1520, then no.

    You're allowed to swap them out. Tech support lets me do it each time they send me a new m1330. It's too bad they keep sending me the super loud ones with the new systems. :(. Anyway yeah, you can swap.

    What happens then with the OS? The OS on the hard drive and the COA on the bottom of the machine won't match. Issues down the road?
