I'm glad I did not buy my laptop from Dell directly

I love my Dell laptop but I'm very glad I bought it from Ebay and not from Dell's warehouse. It all started with my recovery disks I requested from them. Found out they delivered it to the wrong address (to the wrong state). Well, they delivered me it soon after and right now I'm getting a 'free' wireless mouse from them. They told me it would be coming 9/15 but found out that it was delivered 9/13. I checked their tracking number and yet again it was delivered to the wrong address. Emailed them and they told me that the replacement would be coming in 7-10 days. Ah, no biggie. But the fact that they've lost two items in a row is kinda questioning. I wonder what would've happend if I bought my laptop directly from them and I found out it was delivered to the wrong address. That would suck.

Yeah, Dell or any other company, rarely messes up orders like that - they can't afford to.

I think it's just bad luck as well. But maybe not completely since you are going to end up with a free mouse.

Thats why there is FB but you still have to be cautious. There are reputable dealers on Ebay.

Could it be they delivered to the wrong address because the Service tag was still associate with the original buyer? For some reason I though the service tag was tracked with information on the owner of the laptop until it has been transferred to the new owner.

Did you verify that the service tag was transferred to you?

that was my thought glowlight. anyways, I'm a huge fan of dell's service. My recovery disks were ordered on a friday and delivered the next monday. My friend's lcd had some dead pixels so they replaced it with a new one that was on his doorstep the next morning. I like dell.

I have had no problems so far with Dell. Placed an order with Dell on 9/15 and got it my laptop on 9/19. Called and asked for reinstall disks and got them two days later.

Besides half of your complaint is over something you never ordered in the first place. Maybe karma actually works. If I'm not mistaken you started a thread bragging about stealing a mouse. That's what it is because someone, somewhere will end up paying for your free "gift".

Yeah, I have no problems with Dell's service as well. But I did have one problem, mainly my fault. I had ordered a replacement rubber feet for my notebook, but DHL got confused because it had two addresses, one is currently living, and other is previosuly living. So yeah, I should have told Dell, that this was my main address and you can remove the old address.

I would say your right as well when I orderd my reinstallation disks they got my address right but still had the sellers name on the package. I had to call them and straighten up my service tag info.
