    I'm living in Shiga-ken, Japan.
I bought Inspiron 1318 in October 2008 at one of the biggest electronic retail shop near Kyoto Station.
Suddenly, in the middle of November 2008, hasn't reached 1 month, it can't be used again.
The problem is in the screen, and I can't see anything. It looks like the same problem with XPS, due to overheating for the graphic processors.
One thing that makes me fed up is Dell Service Center here in Japan, didn't give any solution at all. They're not helpful. they just ask me to do this, to do that, and when I asked them where can I fix my laptop, they can't answer. !!

Is there anybody can help me fix this problem?
I think that Dell's quality is good, but actually, it's sucks.

Your laptop should be under warranty. Call them and demand a replacement.

Do you have an nvidia 8400M GS graphics adapter? If you saw vertical lines before the display went dead, then most likely it is due to the graphics card. When you press the power button do you see anything at all ? do you hear the computer booting up ?

I assume you bought your computer with at least 1 year warranty, therefore the shop you bought the computer or DELL should repair it (depending on the warranty agreement). First contact the shop, they will tell you who is responsible for warranty repairs.

I also had my motherboard replaced once due to the same problem. As I mentioned in your previous thread, DELL customer support was pretty helpful.

P.S : I'm also in Japan, ordered my computer directly from dell.co.jp.

Im also in Japan, and I can say that dell support is really great. When my xps got a speaker problem I just email them and they picked up my lappy the next day. They replaced the speaker and I received the laptop the following day. Try to contact dell support via email, hope this may help you. Standard warranty is 1year.

PS: I ordered my computer from direct2dell

Thank guys for all of your enlightenment. I bought it @B**C****A. I've already asked them, the seller, and they said that I have to call Dell Support Center for the service, they don't want to take a responsibility. I think this is what makes Dell's response so slowly, because I didn't buy it directly from them. If you guys know their e-mail address, would you give me that?
    Thanks.
