    Hello everyone,

    First post, nice resourceful forum.
    Ok I am a college student(Business- Accounting).

My notebook history has not been good.
    ----------------------
-I had purchased a Fujitsu E7110 from ebay for about $1200+ and it lasted for about 1.5 years and then the screen got messed up. It wont display anything.
It had a P4 processor (hated it, it burned up like hell after 30 min of normal use), 512MB of ram and 60GB HD with 15" TFT screen.
Now im planning to ebay it as is for as much as I can get..hoping for at least $250 or more.

-Now Im using IBOOK G3 "Ice" looks like the current g4 not those colored ones. Its ok but painfully slow! I just cant take the 500MHZ processor anymore. Its basically got 12" screen, 384MB ram, 60GB HD.
Planning to dish this on ebay also for $400 at least..its got airport card in it.so it shouldnt be hard to rid of for that much.
    ------------------------
I use my desktop now cause the ibook isnt cutting it. You name it and its slow on the ibook.

I'm basically going to be using it for school. I do a little bit of this and that, but mostly browesing and downloading music and syncing with palm treo 650.
I will be doing my ebay listing on it so i need something that i can do webediting..(basic, not dreamweaver or anything like that). A little photoshop as well not to crazy though, just the basic stuff like cropping and editing photos mostly for ebay listings.

Here are my questions now; what would be best for me?

    1- Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2400 (2MB Cache/1.83GHz/667MHz FSB) [add $100 or $3/month2]? Is this worth it?

2- 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife™ [add $29 or $1/month2]
whats the deal with this truelife, is it better than regular xga without truelife?

3- Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 [Included in Price]
    -OR-
    128MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1300 HyperMemory™ [add $99 or $3/month2]

would shelling out $99 for x1300 be worth it?

and should i get the built in bluetooth, i have a usb bluetooth adapter, but i want the built in one, but i dont know if $50 worth it.

Sorry, but my budget is going to be under $1000 (just paid my tution and kind of short, so i want a nice system, but not to expensive)
Im coming from a 500mhz ibook ;) so...E1505 would be a car vs. a bike.

    thanks for the help.

    1) The Core Duo compared to P4 you have to multiply the clock speed by about 1.8. So that processor would do the work of a P4 at 3.2-3.3.

    2) The brightness and contrast and color are alot brighter and more established.

    3) If you game, why not get the x1300...it is not a GREAT card, but will do what you need it to do if you game at all. :)

    4) Bluetooth...internal bluetooth is an option that you would have to consider. I would rather get it now then kick myself later. :p

    Here is a 2nd opinion...sort of....

    1. AGREE!
    2. AGREE!
    3. get the x1300 or x1400 at least unless u just simply wont use this thing for anything moderately graphics/game related...otherwise the GMA950 is nice on the battery and can handle small tasks in photoshop pretty easily....
    4. AGREE with USAF again....u could by a cheap-o adapter later....but its something extra thats external....I would put it inside.
I guess I am a clone of USAF on this one (great minds think alike - lol).
    Good luck!

I've had an my E1505 since March 17.

There is less than 10% speed increase, is that worth $100 to you? It wasn't to me.

TrueLife is the glossy screen, I got it and I like it.

If you game then yes, otherwise the 950GMA is more than adaquate. Remember, this can NOT be upgraded later.

These modules are readily available on eBay. There is a small snap door in the battery compartment. Would take 2 min to install.
