Hello, I'm new to this forum and laptops to be exact. Well first off I ordered my Dell Studio 1557 about three days ago, and I'm looking for a good bag, preferably a Dakine bag. Well I don't want to purchase a bag and my 1557 not fit inside. I was curious, is the 1557 the same size as a 1555?.. because several websites i went to, only depict 1555. Also i know the 9-cell battery will enlarge the laptop, what would the best option, find a different bag that fits around 16' to 17'?

    1557:
    Height
25.3 mm to 38.9 mm (0.10 inches to 1.23 inches)
    Width
    371.6 mm (14.63 inches)
    Depth
    253.0 mm (9.96 inches)

    Battery 9-cell:
    Height
    37.8 mm (1.5 inches)
    Width
    284.9 mm (11.2 inches)
    Depth
    48.3 mm (1.9 inches)

I know its a stupid question, but I really need a new bag, and this would help very much, the website i went to is www.Ebags.com

Thank you and have a great day

No question is a stupid question. At least that's how I've been taught.
17' Laptop bag prices are high. Some run over a $100. Since manufacturing measurements vary, one sure way of getting a proper fit is to take the Laptop some place that sells bags and test them. Best Buy, or Staples are a few places to look. Once you find a bag you really want....do a search for that same bag on Ebay or the internet, and you'll usually find it a lot cheaper.

I got a Dell 17' bag for $22 on Ebay. The Dell Studio 17 fits snugly inside, and it's designed to be laid flat when you put it in the car seat. I like that because most of these bags are designed to put the Laptop in the center, while putting your extras on BOTH sides of it. That's kinda like laying your laptop on a rock.
