I have recently purchased an I6000 Win XP MCE 2005 - I wanted to know if it's true that there is a CD Image of Windows XP MCE 2005 on the drive from which i can burn a disk and format/clean install ?

The only thing that's bad about that image on the hard drive is that it has all the annoying Dell bloatware

So this is bascially an image of Dell's system restore disk and not a clean copy of Win XP MCE 2005? **** that sucks :(

If I wanted a clean copy would i need to phone dell and ask them to ship me the additional "OS Backup CD" for $10 ? Is there any other ways of getting a clean copy of MCE 05 ?

It is an OEM version (clean install). You can only burn the image one time, but you can use the cd multiple times. Of course, only on Dell systems.

The restore partition is what will install the bloatware. Once you reformat, you can't use the restore partition anyways, so it might be good to delete it.
