I'm getting a 6000 delivered today, and I've been doing some reading in this great resource about the machine. The contributions are great!
I do have a couple of questions regarding over/underclocking. I'd like the flexibility to throttle down the CPU for battery concerns, or say throttle up the x300 if I want to play some games. I do understand that they are 2 completely seperate functions, however.
Do I need any special software or utility for either of these functions? Drivers? I've seen mention of Omega (I think) drivers for the ATI card, but am not sure of that either.
Thanks for all the help.
If the specs matter, it's a 1.86/wsxga+/80 gig/1 gig/x300 machine.

You can undervolt the CPU through the bios. (Not recommended unless you know what you are doing) You could undervolt too much and computer won't boot.
GPU - Can be adjust by using aftermarket drivers like omega, etc. This can also damage the card and not recommended if you don't know what you are doing. -
Try Driverheaven.com for some drivers as well. In addition, ATI has produced some fairly decent drivers themselves, which allow for maxium performance without OCing the GPU.
