My Inspiron 6000 has a Pentium M 1.50 GHz CPU, but System Properties tab says 239 MHz. It says this if I'm running on battery or AC, doesn't matter. When I first noticed it, I had been running it for quite a while and thought perhaps it slowed down because of heat, but I've since noticed it always says 239 MHz, even after just being turned on in the morning. Is this just BS or something I should worry about?

Thanks a lot, I was hoping it was a Windows thing. I've got CPUz on there now, and everything looks in order. Thank you!

Windows reports wrong readings for a set of reasons. If you want to know your speed real time and how it is varying as your CPU load changes use this: http://www.cpuid.org/cpuz.php
It's small, very helpful, and doesn't require to be installed

    You're welcome.

Windows has all sorts of foul ups. I never trust anything windows reports unless I verified by some other third party software.

BTW the issue that you had was, that most of the time windows will report the slowest speed your CPU can operate on and NOT the real time clock!

    Anyway no need to worry!
