    Hi ,

I have a problem with the 'media buttons' (located on the front side of laptop uder the touchpad)

I can't seem to make them work. I was used to listen to CD's with computer turned off (ACER) and now I can't even control DVDs and CDs via these buttons. Is there some drivers needed ? Where can I get them , because I browsed Dell web page and there was nothing. Can anybody advise ?

What are you using to play CD's and DVD's?

I know using winamp, you have to enable the option in winamp's properties to use the controls. WMP should automatically work with buttons.

It depends ... sometimes WMA , sometimes Winamp , sometimes Power DVD and sometimes even BSplayer
So you're saying that it has to be preset in each program that I want to use for playing discs?

No chance to play audio CD with computer turned OF F?

LOL, that was my question. You can play cds with the lid shut (as long as it is either on or standby), but not with it off or in hibernation. Try downloading Quickset and see if you have any better luck. I personally don't use Quickset but I don't have any problems with my media controls. I use PowerDVD, and they work fine.

Since they are media controls and can be used with a wide variety of programs, I don't think you can just use pause/play button to start just one program.
