I recently got my E1705 and installed I8kfanGUI... It definately brought my GPU and CPU temperature down. My 2nd fan (GPU) is usually always on and on low fan speed.

But I keep hearing people talk about the I9kfanGUI... Am I using the wrong program?!?

It seems to me as if I9kfanGUI is for the Dell 9400 (E1705).

    Can someone help me?

It's supposed to be, but I9K 2.3 is not compatible with Core Duo's, so use I8K. It's workiing here with no problems at all.
